Sand berthed above the pebbled shore of Tairua’s picturesque and sheltered harbour, Twin Tides boasts sweeping vistas across to the golden sands of Pauanui Beach and the lush native flora that lines the slopes of Tairua’s surrounding ranges.

Twin Tides is situated aboard the historic SS Ngoiro, a lovingly restored vessel whose name translates as “brown gull” in Maori. Built in 1914, the SS Ngoiro once ferried travelers across the Waitemata Harbour between New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, and its harbourside suburb of Devonport.

Retired to her current seaside home in 1999, this slice of New Zealand’s maritime heritage has recently been faithfully refurbished to create a timeless setting for unique weddings and memorable celebrations. With two separate function areas and a beach-side native garden, Twin Tides offers a customized service that caters for both small, intimate gatherings and receptions seating up to 80 guests.
